About KML Designs

KML Designs is a small business that is owned and operated by Kathleen Landreth. Kathleen founded KML Designs with the hope of empowering women and expressing her creativity. After graduating from Schreiner University, Kathleen left her home in Texas to pursue a career in website design.

In 2007 Kathleen’s life was changed forever after going through an emotionally devastating situation. In the following months Kathleen rediscovered her love for jewelry and the beauty of gemstones, leading to the beginning of KML Designs. Kathleen’s first designs were intended as Christmas gifts for her family. Made of turquoise and coral, these items never made it to December.

Most people who saw these pieces insisted on purchasing them and refused to take them off. Following this success, Kathleen began developing her skills by taking jewelry, fusing, soldering classes, learning a patented knotting technique from Wendy Simpson Conner.

Kathleen is continually adding to the diverse jewelry lines at KML Designs, and is constantly researching and expanding the use of semi-precious stones in her jewelry. Past designs include Austrailian zebra rock, Gaspeite, Swarkovski crystals, turquoise, coral, freshwater pearls, rubies, emeralds. Recently KML Designs has added two specialty lines to compliment KML’s traditional line, KML Wedding and Baby Kate. Both came from small beginnings but promise to bring a new excitement to Kathleen’s jewelry.

Baby Kate, KML Designs enchanting children’s line, features beautiful and colorful jewelry. Designed for special occasions, these are lifelong pieces that will grow with a child to ensure a lasting and meaningful connection. KML Wedding is custom made jewelry that is intended to highlight the beauty of the bride, her bridal party, and the wedding on this amazing day.

Although no longer in her hometown of Midland, Kathleen will always be a Texas girl at heart. The area is central to her inspiration and paired with her close family provides a strong foundation for Kathleen to share KML Designs.
